AIDA 1 – Introduction to Freediving is your first step into the world of breath-hold diving, designed for complete beginners who want to explore the underwater world safely, confidently, and with proper technique. In this entry-level course, you’ll learn the foundations of freediving in a relaxed, supportive environment—no prior experience required. You’ll start with the essentials: how the body responds to breath-hold, how to breathe and relax effectively, and how to prepare for a dive with calm, efficient routines. We’ll cover key safety principles, buddy procedures, and risk awareness so you understand how to train and dive responsibly from day one. In the water, you’ll practice core freediving skills such as equalization basics, finning technique, streamlined movement, and comfortable breath-hold. You’ll also learn how to manage stress, improve comfort underwater, and build confidence through progressive exercises. Sessions are structured to help you develop good habits early—focusing on control, relaxation, and safety rather than pushing limits. By the end of AIDA 1, you’ll have a clear understanding of freediving fundamentals, the ability to participate in guided freediving sessions, and a strong base for continuing to AIDA 2 and beyond. **Prerequisites** - Be 18 years or older. (16-17) years old requires parent or guardian consent. - Be able to swim 100m non-stop - Have completed the AIDA medical form and Liability release.
